AMERICA:  TRICK OR TREAT?

On October 31, Halloween, America caught a real scare by watching C-Span.  The New Black Panther Party held a public meeting at Washington DC's Press Club, to discuss the present day events since Sept. 11th.  This 4 1/2 hour public reasoning drew harsh criticism from any and every corner a person can think of, at least from those who reported on the meeting.  The call of this organization was that Blacks, especially young Black men, should not join in America's war against terrorism. They also spoke out, quite vividly, about America's role in terrorizing Blacks, Indians, Muslim, and Asians through vast policies and eras.  At one point members held up a picture of Pres. George W. Bush and accused him of causing all the present day problems of the world, being that the American government plans to blame ALL wrong doings on Osama Bin Laden.

There were multiple speakers at the event including Imaams from various Mosques. Imaam Mohammed Asi from the Islamic Center of Washington, DC had to be the most vocal of all speakers.  He presented various facts about the relationships between America and its Mid-East allies, for example, that countries like Saudi Arabia, which America supports, is still one of the most repressive governments in the region.  The Imaam plainly stated that Israel mastermind the plot to destroy the Twin Towers to get America more involved with the war between Israel and Palestine.  He gave evidence showing that no Jewish people were killed at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11th and that Israel had every motive and resource to accomplish such a task.  The media never mentioned that there were 8 arrests of Israelis caught with box cutters, cash, and detonation materials on 9/11.  He went on further to state that the American people are being fooled into believing this war begins and ends with Afghanistan.  There are so many other nations who have the same or even more hatred towards American foreign policy and the forcing of American culture that all of its military cannot possibly be everywhere at the same time.

Towards the end of the public meeting, a question/answer period was given.  The few people who came forward to speak made the most significant statements of the night, which MUST be taken into consideration.  One of the audience members was the sister of Kwame Ture, who spoke as a Christian, stating that this war is also against them as well. She totally rejected the concept of George Bush using Christianity and Christians to justify a war against Islam.  She went further to call out Rev. Jesse Jackson and other powerful Black clergy men and women for being deliberately silent.  There were 2 young Black men, 1 from America and 1 from Palestine around the age of 25, who told the panel they were happy to hear the discussion, but were hinting that talk cannot solve the problem.

These young men prove and display that violent action is being accepted amongst the younger generation to solve the problems of injustice.  Though the panelists expressed fully that educating the public on the complete story is necessary to bring change, the youth are showing impatience with that strategy.  As long as people continue to bury their head in the sand, this violent reality will come to epidemic proportions.  It is already being shown that youths globally will seek peace first, but have no problem with bringing the war.  With what was said by these youths, they have no problem with bringing the fight to their own kind first if those before them do not stand up and act instead of protecting their vanity and becoming false patriots directly and indirectly.  The Imaam stated that these new breed of Muslims and other revolutionary youths are a generation that cannot be bought nor sold.

GAS PRICES IN SOUTHERN UNITED STATES---LESS THAN $1.00 PER GALLON

Since America's War on Terrorism, gas prices from Virgina to Florida have dropped to record lows.  This is good news for the SUV gas guzzlers and for the egos of patriots that feel their war is producing good results.  No one seems to wonder how the War on Terrorism can affect gas prices.  The United States utilizes 2/3 of the world's resources as well as it consumes the most oil globally.  The countries America targets as "terrorists", all have a history of being a threat to the supply of the oil America needs.  Because of American multi-national corporations unfair business practices, monopolization, and down right thievery, the West has destroyed nations in the name of dominance.

There are many examples of countries like Nigeria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and South American countries, who give historical precedence to the situation.  How many realize that Afghanistan was the site for a huge oil pipeline that would have connected Asia to Europe in the distribution of oil?  This pipeline has caused Russia and America to continue a war that has been fought on the heads of the people in Afghanistan who have benefitted nothing.  Nigeria has had a civil war because of its oil prospects, even the country of Sudan, which everyone ignored until its oil potential was realized.  The sad part is the European powers and oil moguls (such as the Bush family), have played the middle to play the two ends.  The tactic of divide and rule, although well known, still work on people who refuse to put aside greed and self-interest for the betterment and fair treatment of their respective countries and peoples.

Those who feel they are fortunate enough to enjoy such "bargains" should be very aware that someone else is paying their expense.  Here is a historical article to serve as one of many examples:

"The story of the Ethiopian War is that of another oily Rockefeller Crusade. It began on July 1, 1923, when the press announced that the Anglo-American Oil Co., a Standard Oil subsidiary, had obtained an exclusive oil concession in the northern half of the Harrar Province of Abyssinia (Ethiopia). Nothing more was heard of this concession for more than a decade despite the urgent need of the Rockefeller interests for a source of oil for the Mediterranean basin that was close at hand and did not require costly haulage by tankers, from the far-off Gulf and Venezuelan ports, or from East India. Behind the scenes there raged a fierce diplomatic battle. For Ethiopia holds the source of the Nile and was regarded by the British Empire as one of its critical spheres of interest. It vigorously opposed permitting its deadly rival, the Rockefeller Empire, to gain a foothold there. Under pressure of the British, Haile Selassie I denied permission to the Rockefeller interests to proceed with the development of the concession that had been given them.

"Following negotiations of Sir Francis Rickett, a director of Rockefeller's Socony Vacuum Oil So, with Mussolini, in which it is apparent that the Rockefeller interests assured Il Duce of supplies of oil for a war on Abyssinia in exchange for a thirty year monopoly of the Italian oil market and the ratification of their Ethiopian concession, as well as other considerations, border incidents on December 9, 1934, between Italian and Ethiopian troops, in connection with a dispute over the Italian Somalian frontier, served as a pretext for the waging by Italy of an undeclared war. In the midst of the war, on September 1, 1935, the press announced the text of an Ethiopian concession, negotiated by Sir Francis Rickett, to the African Exploration and Development Co., organized in 1933 as a subsidiary of the Socony Vacuum. The names of Mellon, Mitchell and Teagle were mentioned in connection with the deal, and in the following month, October 15, the press linked an Ethiopian arms order to the Rickett deal. This followed the traditional practise of the Rockefeller Empire, of playing all ends against the center. Shortly thereafter, the British, acting on behalf of the League of Nations, offered Haile Selassie I a negotiated peace for surrender to the Italians of the oil-rich Fafan Valley in the Harrar Province---the original 1923 concession to the Rockefeller interests. This was rejected on December 12, 1935.

"In the meantime, belated economic sanctions were ordered by the League of Nations to go into effect November 18, 1935, and continued until July 15, 1936, after termination of the war. The Rockefeller empire, which had assured Mussolini in advance that no effective sanctions would be applied in respect to that absolute essential of modern war---oil---made good on its assurance. On December 4, 1935, the press announced that the Rockefeller interests would defy the League and supply Mussolini with oil from the Romanian fields; on December 12, Socony Vacuum announced the building of two refineries for Mussolini in Naples; and on January 8, 1936, it was announced that Italy might get oil from Germany. The Ethiopian oilfields are now controlled by the Rockefeller interests through the Sinclair Oil Corporation. The red that tints their end product, ethyl gasoline, might well be Italian and Ethiopian blood! "

Giving Thanks for 1 year of

The RastafarI Collective

InI the Babe and Suckling.com have to, with pleasure and reverence, give thanks to and for Our God and King H.I.M Emperor Haile Selassie I The First who has allowed us to be who we are.  We are celebrating 1 year of The RastafarI Collective this week and are praying for the guidance to see more years ahead.

History has shown that all great movements have benefited or fallen due to the process of disseminating information.  The Hon. Marcus Garvey said that every movement must have a newspaper or literature that can continue to educate Our people about themselves and their environment.  Emperor Haile Selassie I has always given time to the Press whether foreign or local.  He likewise recognizes publications of the printed word as a very essential instrument in fostering informed domestic and world public opinion.  Early in the 1920's, He imported into Ethiopia the first printing press which has today grown to be the largest and most modern printing complex in the nation.  King Emmanuel Charles Edwards publishing of "The Bulletin", continues to educate Africans at home and abroad on repatriation and the news of Africa.

The things we have had the fortune and un-fortune of reasoning on, we pray it will help Our Black African nation grow stronger and wiser as we have.

We would like to give Our heartful thanks to all who have submitted articles and of course Our avid readers for taking the time out to continue their education.  We are looking forward to seeing the growth of truth and rights to continue with the highest of integrity and a love for learning that will help all get truth in its purest form; especially in these times when there is a hot battle for hearts and minds to either stray or uplift.

"Some of our people get discouraged because they cannot achieve success at a bound.  I never belonged to that religious school which believed that.

There is hardly any place within twelve miles of New Haven where I have not been on foot, and I have observed the farmers at their work.  I saw that if the farmer planted corn, he got corn; I saw that if he plowed under the soil in the fall, put in fertilizers, put in the seed and then cultivated it, he got results.  I discovered that farmers get out of the ground just what they put in it, and that is true in all human activities and all human enterprises.  None of the great things which you see in the world sprang up in a day.  It took years for those magnificent oaks in California to grow and develop.  Great animals like the elephant take years to develop.  It takes years to build up any great industry.  It is unfortunate that our nature is such that if we cannot receive results in a day or a year, we get discouraged.  Do you know that the men who sowed the seeds of this country's prosperity never lived to see the fruit and help harvest it?  So it is in all human activities and enterprises, and the thing for the Negro to do is to have faith in his future."

Rt. Hon. Marcus Mosiah Garvey, November 6, 1920
