THIS WEEK'S FEATURE STORY
Earlier this week, Rev. Al Sharpton was sentenced to 90 days in prison for his protest stance against American Naval bombing on Vieques, Puerto Rico. He was given the unusual sentence based on his previous protest record. Many question the timing and severity of his punishment being that he recently announced his thought of candidacy for President. Outside of that matter, the question is: Is the law now gearing up to come down harder on the voice of dissension.
Peaceful protest is the right of any human that is being subjected to some form of injustice. America's biggest claim is free speech, yet they choose to jail you as their counterparts who have limited speech. Sentences of this magnitude must be looked at with a serious eye. Internal disruptions with so much external complications cause the system to raise a heavier hand against its own like a drunk who comes home and beats his wife because of his own personal misfortune.
People around the world must understand when a judge decides to make arrests for peaceful protests as a rap sheet, it is the beginning of another fear tactic. People will be foolish enough to say it is not worth standing up for their rights because the punishment has become harsher, forgetting that the present life of injustice they dwell under is a death sentence. Especially now in a time where the consciousness of all people globally will bring more protests against the evils of the world.
Also, did everyone hear of the political earthquake which took place in the American Senate? The Senator from Vermont jumped ship on the Republicans and is now being called 'Benedict Jeffords'. His move gave the Senate back to the Donkeys (Democrats) who will now have the majority voice. This hurts the Bush administration for any agendas where the Republicans would have had the upper hand. This action caused the stock market to plunge because corporate America is the biggest supporter of this administration. The fall-out from this defection has only begun to make the ripples and will continue for a long time to come......the saga continues...........

THIS WEEK'S FEATURE STORY
Distrust---the arch enemy of any nation that is seeking to see its people work together in a realistic harmony. This enemy appears when the greed of a few and the laziness of others take hold in society. Faith and works are the only defenses against such an invader.
The escalating war between the Palestinians and Israelis is still walking down the path of total destruction. The recent suicide bombing attack against Israelis in the heart of their entertainment, a nightclub, where youths gather to enjoy each others company and relieve stress was shattered. When people anywhere have such trauma occur in places where they feel the safest causes the fear factor to multiply 50 fold. This incident caused Israelis to take to the street chanting WAR.
The global community is demanding America to make its presence felt in the situation. It has even forced Colin Powell to cancel previous engagements and head straight to the Middle East. The present administration has been avoiding this area and snubbing the Palestinian leadership since their first day in office, even though they were well aware of the rising conflict today and historically. How can they be impartial mediators when they have been partial from the beginning or is that the strategy? Would America find it more profitable to have the war escalate than to seek peace? Is this the way that the Israelis and Americans can come together and finally complete a calculated effort to dominate in the Middle East? Those of us living in the West must realize that these questions irrespective of how they are answered will become the people's consequence to bear.
Another case in which profit outweighs morality is the lawsuit that the people of India have against McDonalds. It has been reported that McDonalds takes potatoes, smothers them in beef flavoring, and fries them in 100% vegetable oil, and tells its patrons that its "golden french fries" is vegetarian friendly. In a country where cows are sacred, it is a sin and a shame that McDonalds would totally disregard their culture. The suit has had an impact globally where in many countries there are people of all faiths that are vegans or vegetarians that are also outraged. Foolish business practices such as these only destroy the business itself for foolish gain. McDonalds failed to see, as many others, that advertising itself as a social entity to sell food has a dual responsibility, to each individual person, as well as society in general. In a time when most people have a growing distrust of many co-pirates (corporations), ignorant actions by those will always cause people to participate less with other businesses that have no such evil intention.
The greatest betrayal of trust is the sadistic acts of adults against children. It was reported that a 14 year old girl asked her father to have a sleep over with a few of her friends from school and the neighborhood. The father in turn gave the young girls aged 11-15, food and drink laced with "date rape drugs" and raped all the unconscious girls several times and video taped it. The daughter found the tapes and informed the police. The father is now on the run and is being sought by authorities. People should be aware that statistical information states that the biggest buyers of child pornography are in the United States. The inhumane evils that would choose to destroy the sacred trust that adults and children have will surely cause even more hatred and distrust amongst any people of any nation.
Sodom and Gomorrah in the Bible was just as evil and as prosperous as the present day world. As well as the people who lived then are for sure the same people who live now. There were people who suffered and chanted to see the day Sodom and Gomorrah fell and others who ignored and went with the flow for their own vain. The fruits of all these actions were written before any of us were here and it is a sin to foresee that it will surely be repeated with continuous inaction by us collectively.

WHY IS AFRICA BUYING SUPPORT FROM AMERICA VIA U.S. LOBBYISTS?
It is reported in "The Final Call" dated June 5, 2001, that African governments are spending millions of dollars on lobbying firms to buy friendships in America. The oil producing countries like Nigeria, Angola, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea are paying the highest fees to gain friends with the new oil administration under President Bush. Other countries like Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso, and Cote d' Ivorie, are also making use of this method. The fees and rates vary from firm to firm, starting as low as $10,000 to over $1 million annually. This is very disturbing when so much talk of relieving debts for African nations are being discussed. To make reality sound stranger than fiction, America is planning to boycott the World Conference Against Racism in Durban, South Africa, August 31, 2001 to September 7, 2001. Also, the $1 billion funding which was to be given to Africa for the health situation on the continent was cut until Bush gave the $200 million which he trumpeted to the press after the U.S. were kicked off of the Commission of Human Rights.
With this in mind, how can self rulership in Africa ever maintain when it seeks to depend on the same source that has depleted its resources? How much of this money could have been used for self correction? The lobbying groups that have fought for corporations to gain have no interest in the welfare of people in America , where they are headquartered, much less anywhere else on Earth.
Are WE as a people so ignorant that we would continue to pay the man who is digging our hole, to give us trinkets while we are laying in the hole waiting to be buried? How is this any different from Blacks who reside in the West that put all of their hard earned effort, economically and physically into a system that would not even take the time to stop police from brutally killing them?
People who speak of faith should question; Does helping your neighbor as yourself, cost a fee?
THE FINAL QUESTION; HOW CAN BLACK AFRICANS EXPECT A COUNTRY LIKE AMERICA AND BRITIAN THAT HAS RACE RELATION PROBLEMS THAT HAVE LED TO VIOLENCE IN THE STREETS THIS DAY, TO BE OF HONEST SERVICE TO THE CONTINENT IN WHICH WE BELONG?
SLAVE MENTALITY HAS SURELY REACHED ALL 4 CORNERS OF THE EARTH AND WILL BE THE DESTRUCTION OF GENERATIONS TO COME.
To show how this ignorance was forseen and has been a continuing practice, here are 2 quotes from the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Oakland, Cal., October 23, 1923:

George W. Bush is presently on his European tour trying to reinforce the strength of the European Union and America as one entity. Bush is even pushing for Russia to finally become a part of Europe now that the country is disabled. This trip seems to represent the concept that European American corporations are coming together to strengthen their domination on the world. The protests against Bush and the whole agenda has been more than loud and clear with the rioting carried out by the people. Most people recognize that these steps taken by the European American nations, is its chance to recolonize the people of other nations.
An example is the harsh protest given by the people of Argentina against Spain. In recent days, American Airlines has had to cancel all flights going to Argentina, where the people recognize that Spain has bought the national airline and many other businesses that were owned by the people of Argentina. As Spain takes over these entities, they have put thousands out of work and are reinserting their authority in the country. These actions are terrifying reminders to the people of Argentina that the country is being colonized through globalization. A fact is, Spain has more investment in Argentina than any other country. The people took matters into their own hands by using jumbo jets to block other flights from coming in, forcing passengers that had connections or flights in or out to be stuck. Everyday an anti-Spain sentiment is growing in the country and is causing major friction between the people and the government.
In America, there is a growing anger amongst the Whites that not only Europe, but the world in general, has nothing but disdain for the people and its President. On many news programs and talk shows, especially C-Span, Whites are taking the stance that people who live in America that feel the country is so arrogant, should leave or be kicked out. They are also taking potshots at the Europeans saying that after America has saved them twice in both World Wars, they should stop their jealousy and not have negative speech against America. The pressure being put on White Americans in general has even caused a sharp rise in militia and hate groups. Even the announcement that America would PLAN to stop the bombing on Vieques island in 2003, also brought harsh criticism from White America that Puerto Rico should have voted for independence instead of being a dependent on a country that they feel is destroying them and their people.
All should check history and realize that these sentiments were the beginnings before all war broke out, internally and externally. This is all taking place in a time where the American economy continues to backslide and projections for the rest of the year are less than poor. Companies like Nortel Networks are reporting a $20 billion loss and still plan to fire thousands of people after they have already fired 20 thousand people.
The cherry on top is that last Monday's execution of Timothy McVeigh did absolutely nothing for the people and it even started a stranger conversation amongst the people. Some have compared his killing to that of Jesus Christ because McVeigh was 33, as Jesus, on his date of execution and he has died for his beliefs that the government has become a danger to its people, just as the Romans crucified Christ because he revolted against the system. How phenomenal it would be that the people cried and prayed that Jesus would come back in 2000 years, just to turn around and kill him again 2000 years later, the same exact way, for the same reason of revolting against the system? If this is to be taken as truth, boy are the people in serious trouble!

HOW LITTLE JOEY MURDERS AND GETS A NEW IDENTITY?
Children killing children is a sinful reality that has been taught by the senseless murder of man to man. The crimes committed by children is only a reflection of the violent society that we all dwell in. Still, when we hear the cases of children, no one seems to care or address the situation. Along with this there is a greater injustice. The injustice we speak of is the unfair sentencing as well as the lack of rehabilitation offered to poor children.
In recent months, we have seen two young Black children in Florida sent to an adult prison, for life without the chance of parole for the crimes of murder. Many other youths have chosen to take paths that have led to other places except their dreams. When they make these mistakes, society finds it very difficult to give them a second chance or mercy. When these youths are released as young men and women, they are released with a "paper handcuff", called a criminal record. Society says that everyone deserves a fair chance in redemption after they have paid their dues. This works in theory, but in reality, the "paper handcuff" is one more method in excluding the poor and have-not from society. This leads the individual to either commit more crimes or to fall into despair.
For the rich citizens, the law extends a different hand. A perfect example is the case in England where two 10 year-old White youths lured a younger White child away from his parents and brutally & maliciously beat him to death and then put his body on the train tracks to have a train split the corpse in half. The two youths were arrested, tried, and convicted on a murder charge. They only received 15 years, in which today they have only served half of their sentence and are now being released.
The news of the youths release has caused a great stir for many reasons. The first, they have not completed the sentence. Second, they are being released with new identities. Third, the media cannot release any photographs of these youths in print or over the internet. What kind of shit is this? It is unheard of the kind of leniency given to these two White murderers. What kind of justice is the system capable of giving when it only chooses to serve the rich, but discipline the poor? How does society expect to ease its racial problems when they continue to show the difference in treatment of rich White people versus poor Black people? How many people reading this have had their lives turned upside down because of past mistakes that haunt them for the rest of their lives?
In comparison these youths have sinned against the Almighty in the worst way and are now being told by the counterparts, that they will now have a chance to return to society and have their past erased...purged...diminished...disappear. All should remember this when we allow, again, one of our own to be taken by the wolf. Those who have their full trust in the society have become the owner and paymasters of such destruction.
