THE PURIFYING FIRE MUST RISE
INI HAVE REASONED WITH MANY THAT BABYLON DIED ON 9/11. ALL THAT IS HAPPENING NOW IS STILL THE AFTER SHOCKS FROM THAT TIME, WHICH VIBRATE THE WHOLE WORLD. THE FEAR OF DEATH HAVE NOW REACHED THE CIVILIAN AND SOLDIER ALIKE. WHEN THE WORD SOUND POWER THAT HAS BEEN CONSTANTLY PROFESSED BY THE ELDERS AND THE BABES ALIKE GO UN-HEEDED, WE ALL END UP IN THIS DESTRUCTIVENESS THAT HAS ONLY BEGUN.
IT IS THE SAME AS THE SON OF MAN WHO CAME AND SAID TO THE PEOPLE, CLEAN UP YOUR WAYS FOR INI FATHER IS WROTH. YET MAN NOT ONLY IGNORED, THEY WENT A STEP FURTHER AND KILLED THE MESSENGER AND PUT THEIR HOPES IN HIS RESURRECTION. NOW EASTER/PASSOVER HAS COME AGAIN AND THE SAME PEOPLE HAVE NOT LEARNED AND WILL ENTER THEIR HOUSE OF PRAISE IN YET MORE VAIN.
INI RASTAFARI PEOPLE WHO OBEY OUR GOD AND KING, REMAIN UNALIGNED WITH THE FOLLIES OF MAN. YET NOT SPEAKING OUT IN BLUNT TERMS OF RIGHT AND WRONG AGAINST THE OCCUPIER, OCCUPIED, AND OUTSIDE INFLUENCES, MAKES INI JUST AS GUILTY. THE U.N. WILL FAIL AS THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS, BY ONLY PASSING PAPER CONDEMNATIONS WITHOUT FRUITFUL ACTION. WILL THE WORLD AT ITS OWN PERIL STILL DENY, THAT HAILE SELASSIE I THE FIRST EARTH'S RIGHTFUL RULER OWNS THE KEYS TO LASTING PEACE?
WILL PEOPLE CONTINUE TO SAY WHY AND PRAY FOR HELP THAT WILL NOT ARRIVE, FOR THEIR ACTIONS DO NOT WARRANT AN ANSWER? THE PRESSURE MUST CONTINUE, SO THE KNEES OF THE WICKED BUCKLE, FOR ALL THEIR MIGHT AND CLAIM OF SUPERIORITY HAS YET TO GIVE THEM REFUGE.
THE PURSUIT OF REPATRIATION WITH REPARATIONS, EQUAL RIGHTS AND JUSTICE, HUMAN RIGHTS, AND THE FREE WILL FOR NATIONS TO HAVE MORAL GROWTH WITHOUT HINDRANCE WILL NEVER STOP. THE WORLD IS NOW ON NOTICE THAT THE MEEK AND HUMBLE ARE AT WAR FOR THEIR INHERITANCE WHICH THE ALMIGHTY HAS ORDAINED.
INI HAVE HAD OUR LIST OF PEOPLE ON OUR "DO YOU KNOW I" PAGE OF PAST/PRESENT PEOPLE WHO USE VIOLENT AND NON-VIOLENT MEANS TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS. IT IS A SHAME TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE SO INTERESTED IN PROTECTING THEIR LITTLE OR NUFF AND SPEAK ILL OF POOR PEOPLE'S STRUGGLE, FORGETTING THAT THOSE BEFORE THEM TOOK ACTIONS THAT ENABLE THEM AND US TO DO WHAT WE DO TODAY.
THESE PURGING FIRES WILL CONTINUE TO BURN; FOR MANKIND IGNORED THE SON, THE FATHER AND DENIED MOTHER NATURE. THE ELDERS AND THE YOUTHS STILL CARELESSLY CHOOSE NOT TO HARMONIZE. HUMANITY HAS STILL YET TO RASPECT THAT ALL COLORS MAKE THE RAINBOW. STILL THE GREATEST SIN OF ALL IS THAT MAN HAS CHOSEN TO HARDEN HIS AND HER HEART AND PUT ALL THEIR TRUST IN VAIN THINGS AS WEAPONS.
WELL AS GRANDFATHER HAS TOLD INI AND IS STILL TRUE TO DATE, THAT:

Subj: Easter: The Holy Must Be Strong.

Many has been the sins of the Established Church against I an I over many centuries, their present sexual crimes being least among atrocities attributed to their clergy. This behavior teaches us that those who are entrusted as guardians of their flock have betrayed even the little babes and sucklings as the reports of their wrongdoing and crimes now being revealed unto the eyes of man show. I an I know that judgment would come certainly from Jah on those who proclaim themselves to be " Holy " and yet repeatedly prove to be the weakest amongst us. In this period of the Church most sacred Easter celebrations where the story of Jesus Christ tells of Crucifixion and Resurrection, giving life and dying for the sins of mankind, ……more than one of the keepers at the gate and the bearers of Jesus Christ message stand guilty of having failed to deliver his message to the innocent and others. Instead by their actions they have made the people and their children cry, while seeking protection from State and Church but that certainly would be dealt with by Almighty Jah. In this however, there are many lessons for Rastafari in their journey through the lands and nations of this earth and I an I should pay heed to avoiding the mistakes, pitfalls, ways of the ungodly and the terrible wrath of the eternal Almighty One.
Judgment from Jah, the only true and rightful judge and that of mankind would most certainly be harsh and dreadful to those who choose deliberately to do harm to the name, image and struggles of the Rastafari people by cloaking themselves in its adornment yet practicing and representing all the ills of the evil Babylon system, by preaching divisiveness, hatred, color and race discrimination, oppression, preying on the weak, exploitation, misrepresentation and other expressions that hinders I an I Rastafari progress. It must be reemphasized to those that think otherwise, that the length of one’s hair, color of clothing, color of skin, geographical location, racial origin, poverty or wealth, love of ganja and music does not constitute or a Rastafari make nor does it add to I an I principles and policies. The words of our Beloved Emperor H.I.M Haile Sellassie especially those in the song WAR popularized by our revered brother Bob Marley being very instrumental in I an I direction in the way forward, the better way.
So let us continue to feed, those that need to be fed, heal, those that need to be healed, teach, those that need to be taught, protect, those that need to be protected, make strong, those that are weak and lead by examples of righteousness in thought, deed, word and action. Let Jah name be praised and thy work be done. A place at the table must be found for everyone.
Each soul has a contribution to make…starting from right where you are, do good to all manner of men and women that you meet who need your help the most, when ever and where ever. The representation, way, truth and love of Rastafari, the Universal message that brings people closer together, starts with self and no one else. His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Conquering Lion of Judah, Defender of the Faith and Elect of God, said on June 24, 1965, "Electricity is a basic requirement for all the industrial projects We envisage."
On December 11, 1966, His Majesty said, "In this scientific and technological age electricity is the life-blood of a nation. For there can be no progress nor economic development without electricity."
His Majesty also said, "We are thus providing the sinews of industry through the generation of electric power, and finally, We are aiding the development of transportation in securing the means for eventual electrification."
In RASTAFARI SPEAKS Volume 1 Issue 2 (Nov-Dec 1995), Ras Shango Baku, Editor in Chief and UK Coordinator wrote, "Shashemane land lies approximately 200km south of Addis Ababa in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. At present, 60 or more families, comprising two to three children per household occupy the land. The basic income is from subsistence farming. Attempts at other means of livelihood have had little success to date because of under-financing. The general condition of the settlement is poor. There is sufficient food to eat but precious little else.
Homesteads built by settlers vary in standard, ranging from the traditional 'mud tukul' and board houses to modern concrete structures, several of which have been erected to date. ELECTRICITY AND WATER ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY. Only some families have been able to afford installations of these services. Others arrange to share these amenities in common or buy water from the town or pay to have it transported from the river."
Finally, on May 18, 2000 Chairman of the Crown Council HIH Prince Ermias Sahle-Selassie, said, "We also need to develop better low-tech means of powering the personal computer to bring the technological revolution to more of Ethiopia's people. CREATIVE DEPLOYMENT OF SOLAR POWER and wind power in a marriage with the PC can bring the information superhighway to remote areas that currently lack affordable electricity."
In light of the wisemind above and occasioned by the opportunity to organize now afforded I&I through the resurrection of Rastafari Speaks and the emergence of various Rastafari online news services, it is now time for the Rastafari community to implement a specific measurable plan to address the situation. Here is a proposed plan:
1.The Rastafarian communities in Shashemane, Ethiopia; in Assinie, Ivory Coast (House of Soweto); and in South Africa, representing the east, west and south of Africa, should determine the priority of needs that can be addressed by having a local solar photo voltaic (PV) unit. Examples of such needs are electricity for irrigation pumps, computer and communications systems, home lighting and appliances, business operations, etc. A report should be made and forwarded to Brother Qadir,US Coordinator of Rastafari Speaks. These reports should include a description of the deployment site, anticipated equipment to be powered, and mechanical/electrical experience and skills within those communities. These reports, once received, will be made available to anyone proposing a project who has completed an application and deposited it with Rastafari Speaks in Chicago.
2. Delegations of Rastafarians should prepare to visit regional Renewable Energy/Solar Living fairs with specific proposals and collect as much information from industry experts on how best to fulfill the proposals. (For example, delegations from Milwaukee, Madison, Chicago, could attend the 13th Annual Midwest Renewable Energy Associates Solar Living Fair--www.the-mrea.org). These delegates should then report their recommendations and send them to Rastafari Speaks in Chicago.
3. Concurrently, in a show of UNITY,EVERY RASTA SHOULD MAKE A CONTRIBUTION, HOWEVER LARGE OR SMALL. These contributions should be labeled PV SOLAR PROJECT and sent to the Centenary Committee for Rastafari in Shashemane (PO Box 329 Shashemane, Malcoda, Shoa Tel:(00) 251 6 10 32 86). ALL HOUSES SHOULD ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE THIS PROJECT.
4. Once specific recommendations are adopted, funds collected and equipment obtained, a delegation should approach the OAU, the Crown Council, and the current administrations in the home countries, to arrange transportation for a delegation and waive any duties on the equipment. Delegations should include a translator, a lead technician, an elder, and a youth who will collectively be responsible for deploying the equipment and training a staff at each site to set-up, operate, maintain, and repair the equipment.
This project, successfully completed, will:
*strengthen the international Rastafarian community
*provide much needed electricity to Rasta communities in Africa
*create knowledgeable, skilled and/or certified/licensed Rastafarians in the field of solar photovoltaic systems applications
*test our organizational networks and power
*accomplish a task that will not have to be passed to the next generation
*provide focus and an occasion to celebrate.
Therefore, what must now be done is that this proposal be published and circulated amongst I&I and forwarded to houses in Shashemane, Assinie, Johanesburgh, and other locations as well. Those communities should then prepare a report and send it to the Rastafari Speaks Us Coordinator by JUNE 1ST, 2002 (Send to Ras Qadir, Us Coordinator at Frontline Distribution Int., 751 East 75th Street, Chicago, IL 60619 USA Tel:(773) 651-9888 rastaspeaks@hotmail.com)
In addition, a list of Regional Renewable Energy Fairs this year will be circulated so that I&I, on our own initiative,can plan to attend and report recommendations.

MURDER ON SUNDAY MORNING
This title comes from a documentary that has been so acclaimed by film critics, that it even won an "Oscar" for best documentary, yet most never heard of it. Most people, irrespective of color, were too happy that blacks had made another stripe in a system that takes 60 years to give them a $5 trophy. Still while the people's common sense was tortured, in real life, a 15 year old young black male was picked up at random and charged for a crime of 1st degree murder and armed robbery. Some may say that this is a "usual occurrence," but this documentary which were only clips of the actual happenings, show how racial profiling is a blatant injustice. It took French filmmakers to bring to light this case, which was tried in Duval County, Florida in 2000 (the same time Florida was under fire and found guilty by an election commission for the destruction of the Black vote). When the media reported the case, it was made to seem as mistaken identity, which after viewing this documentary would be dreadfully wrong.
The greatest tragedy in this story is not that a white detective made his statement about "niggers," but that a black detective whose daddy is a Sheriff, abused this young boy to get "his man." Which in turn proves that Black or White, crooked police and bad policy is a tragic reality. Black males who choose to be themselves for the good or bad, still can become a victim of crime by police or the average human being. Though, young Brenton Leonard Butler was acquitted in 45 minutes, and the claim of the judge is that the system is the best in the world, the events that created the trial in the first place still out weigh the happy ending. For this 15 year old's case is forced to represent many others who have been burned by the system.

HELL NO! WE WON'T GO!
400 plus Israeli youths chose jail instead of fighting in the Israeli war of occupation. Yes, the number is small in comparison to the majority signing up to fight "terrorism." Such action should be noted as some Arabs and Muslims seek justice and hope for peace between biblical neighbors. As the world's opinion continues to grow against war mongers, it will be the will of a just humanity that accepts its right/wrong and work to a better collectivity. Yes, to the broken spirit it is a dream, but for the living it's the hope for survival. To those Israeli youths who stand up for truth and rights, InI heard you!

WHITE STUDENT LET OFF FOR USING 'N' WORD AGAINST BLACK TEACHER
Judge says 'nigga' not the same as 'nigger'
(Mar. 18, 2002) A major WACK Award goes out to those who insist and continue to use the N word. Whether you spell it NIGGER or NIGGA, you still get the WACK Award. Weekend before last, the ridiculous logic of using this word came back to haunt us.
A San Jose, California judge allowed a white student who committed a hate crime against his black female teacher off the hook. His defense reasoned successfully that the white guy did not commit a hate crime when he vandalized school property because he spelled the N word N-I-G-G-A and not N-I-G-G-E-R. Yep, the white guy used the "friendly" version of the word and got away with it. Dude wrote 'Thanks Nigga' and had an arrow pointed to the teacher's name.
For those who are still shaking their heads in disbelief, here's what went down. A white student at a San Jose high school got upset with his African American teacher for suspending his white friend. In retaliation he spray paints a school wall with the teacher's name and the N word which was spelled N-I-G-G-A. The police were upset. The teacher was upset and the community was appalled. Dude goes on trial for this hate crime and his defense attorney brings in some witness to testify to the judge that there's a difference between the two spellings of the N word. The judge listens and lets the white dude off and says no hate crime was committed and thus a dangerous precedent is set.
San Jose's Black Police officers association were extremely upset over the ruling. After all, they know all to well what this will lead to. Next time some cop pulls you over and hurls the N word he can get off by saying he said N-I-G-G-A and not N-I-G-G-E-R. Should you be careful before you file a racial harassment suit against a coworker or an insensitive boss? After all, he or she may actually be using the 'NIGGA' spelling of the word.
I couldn't help recalling the speech that Minister Farrakhan gave at the most recent Hip Hop Summit in LA. He emphatically warned us, "If we keep putting something out there we will one day have to answer for it." This recent court interpretation of this hate crime and the use of the N word was proof. Think about it.
